South Korean bootlegs based on G1 toys originally released in the US before 1988

POLICE CAR
This is an oversized version of Prowl made by ATOM in May of 1997. It's part of their "DELUXE" line of transforming robot cars. The boxart shows a black on white police car color scheme based on that of Transformers Prowl, but the figure itself does not have that appearance. Instead it's molded in blue plastic with a red head. It is possible that there is a version of this figure that resembles the Prowl color scheme, but I never saw one. It has no clear plastic or die cast metal parts like the Transformers version. The figure is not an exact copy of Prowl or any of the Transformer toys based on the Fairlady mold. Differences include remolded police roof lights, differently molded shoulder cannons, and shiny stainless steel headlight covers. It comes with red shoulder mounted cannons that have the missiles molded into them, and they don't attach like the real Prowl's cannons do. It has a big white Prowl rifle and a huge missile launching cannon with 10 missiles. The cannon is another example of the bootleg manufacturers including accessories not released in the official manufacturer versions.

JET-CAR
In May of 1997 ATOM also made a Bluestreak bootleg based again on Takara's Fairlady but again with a few differences in the mold. Unlike 'Police Car', the Jet-Car figure resembles the version depicted on its boxart. Instead of mimicking the Transformers Bluestreak color scheme, Jet-Car is black with red hands & thighs, and white accents. Just like Police Car, this one comes with shoulder mounted one piece cannons, a rifle, and a big cannon with ten missiles. The shoulder cannons and rifle are molded in red instead of white as with Police Car. I remember seeing another figure in this series-it was a transforming BMW with the head of a Gundam in robot mode.

POWER JET DOZER
I found two bootlegs by a company named FIRST based on the Constructicon Scrapper. They came in similar boxes identifying the toy as 'Power Jet Dozer'. The only difference in the boxes was that one was red where the other was blue. The red boxed Power Jet Dozer was a fully assembled toy molded in red, white, and blue with an eagle sticker on the cab. The blue boxed Power Jet Dozer came unassembled with the parts on trees and a small bag of screws for the buyer to assemble the toy with. It was molded in blue and yellow. Both Power Jet Dozers came with Scrapper's super wing and laser pistol, plus a sword.

SHOVEL
I found a Scavenger bootleg referred to as 'Shovel' on its box. The bootleggers who put this out really cut a lot of corners. The package is a Gundam super deformed model kit box turned inside out with the 'Shovel' art printed on the reverse side. Talk about recycling. Despite cheesy original artwork of the Constructicon Scrapper on the package front, the figure inside is actually a bootleg of Scavenger cast in red plastic. Every part is red and the plastic is of very poor quality. The toy is totally unassembled and the parts are still on the trees. A bag of screws and assembly instructions are included to help you put it all together. There is art on the side of the box depicting the other Constructicons done by the same person who drew the cover, but oddly the bootleg counterpart to Mixmaster is not included. Whether or not the whole set of these 'red' Constructicons exists I do not know. I only found Shovel.

TRANS FORM TRIUMVIRATE
This is a set of three transforming robots-a space shuttle, an F-14, and "Z-Helicopter", who is a remold of Blades the Protectobot. The biggest difference between Z-Helicopter and Blades is that Z Helicopter's head is not engineered to become a limb connector and he's got an eagle molded onto his chest! "Z-Helicopter" from the TFT giftset has a blue main body, red legs, and a white head. This set was made in July of 1996.

Z-HELICOPTER
This is the single pack version of "Z-Helicopter". It's the same remold of Blades the Protectobot that was included in the Trans Form Trimumvirate, but with a white main body, blue legs, and a red head. It was essentially a color reversal of the other version. The cannons in this version were molded in blue where the one from the TFT giftset had were white. It's entirely possible that these color variations are not exclusive to either version. It was made in July of 1996.

DOUBLECROSS
I found two bootlegs based on the Autobot Monsterbot Doublecross. The first was called Doublecross on its box and was a duplicate of the original toy minus the spark shooting mechanism. It was manufactured by O-Lim Co, Ltd. and comes with a gold vac metal plated sword and shield in addition to a copy of the regular Doublecross hand pistol. The English text on the box reads "Doublecross Bio-Robot Double Changer Destroy Destron", whatever that means. It is one of the rare instances where the bootleggers used trademarked names on the packaging-that of the robot, and the term 'Destron'.

DOUBLE DRAGON
The second Doublecross based bootleg was a small non-transformable five and a half inch inch tall figure named "Double Dragon". Double Dragon was cast in red, yellow, and blue plastic and came with a sword and shield just like the larger "Doublecross" version, only scaled down a bit and not gold foil plated. It was made by DAE DONG CO.

SUPER STAR
Made by HYUN DAE TONG SANG in 1994, 'Super Star' is the most elaborately accessorized bootleg I have ever seen anywhere. He's a knockoff of Sixshot with enough accessories to equip a small army. He comes with two rifles (cast from the same mold as Sixshot's), two missile launchers, six missiles, a sword, a shield, a tail for his winged wolf mode, a second smaller figure (named Star Robot) that has it's own sword and shield, a small stand for Star Robot that attaches to Sixshot's shoulders, two small robot cats, and a VHS videotape with an Astro Boy cartoon! His modes as named on the box are: Super Robot, Super Tank, Super Armored Carrier, Super Laser Gun, Super Jet, and Super Lion. A seventh mode named Super Star is accomplished by attaching all the accessories to the main robot! All of the joints are extremely loose. I don't know if it's because mine may have been a used sample or if the quality was really that bad.
